Hans Platzgumer and Jens Döring are hp.stonji.
So far they've been known from their albums on Zurich's Spezialmaterial and the Viennese label Konkord, as well as from their countless other projects (solo or with others, e.g. Cube & Sphere, hp.zinker, Queen of Japan, e.stonji).
hp.stonji's music is an organic blueprint of the music called electronica. But it might as well be fat and dirty.Hp.stonji are Hans Platzgumer and Jens Döring, two melancholic souls producing artificial music, sharply cut hightek breakbeats and sinister ambient soundscapes with an imminent
sense for melodies.

Hans Platzgumer
After releasing countless albums, on such varied and exciting labels as Universal (this year)
Rough Trade, Thrill Jockey, Sympathy for the Record Industry, Roughneck, Matador, Sub Up,
Disko B, Domino and Cheap, Hans Platzgumer arrives at Switzerland's Spezial Material imprint
for the HP Stonji collaborative project. Hans is a long time Patrick Pulsinger collaborator with
his own releases on the futuristic Cheap label, and has collaborated also with DJ Hell, Richard
Dorfmeister, Gerhard Potuznik, Evan Dando and many others...
Jens Döring
Jens Döring aka e.stonji is one of the many monickers of Jens Doring, from Dresden, Germany.
First recording under the name "Shift", and then later "e.stonji", he has had releases on
Kitty-Yo, Skam, Spezialmaterial, Phantomnoise and Heimelektro. Later he became part of the
duo "hp.stonji" with fellow musican Hans Platzgumer and have enjoyed success on Rough
Trade and Klein. In may 2008 his solo-EP „Particles“ was released on PhantomnoiseRecords.
